Open Your Heart to Gratitude

From My Brother Zig By Hall of Fame Speaker and Author Floyd Wickman

It’s in this season where we focus on giving, on gratitude, on thanks and on the people around us that some of the lessons I learned from my “brother” Zig truly resonate so deeply.  Here’s one excerpt that I wanted to share…

“Most people just don’t live with a grateful heart. They are constantly striving for more instead of living in a state of thankfulness.  If you need perspective, spend an hour in the cancer ward at your local children’s hospital.  Look into the eyes of a mother holding a sick toddler on their lap, hoping against all hope that they will hear good news. What problems did you mention you had?  I bet they pale in comparison.

Keep your PERSPECTIVE. You have so much to be grateful for.  Remind yourself right now of all the blessings that have been poured on you over the last decades. Thank God for your health, your family, your friends, your passions, and your gifts.”

In this industry, I've known some incredible people with amazingly grateful hearts.  The difference it makes to your days, your relationships and your career when you CHOOSE to find the reasons to be grateful and joyful for every 24 hours and all that it brings is phenomenal.

Ask yourself these questions today:

What am I most grateful for?

Who do I need to forgive?

Who can I reach out to and say ‘thank you’ in a special way?

Giving thanks and living a grateful life shouldn't be a ‘seasonal’ thing.  It’s an everyday way of being.  Learn more of the lessons Zig taught in our timeless new book, Lessons From My Brother Zig
