The Excuses That Hold You Back

We recently kicked off our second sweathogs.com learning program of the year, and the results our participants achieve only happen when they do the work throughout the program.

During the first week of doing the work, the resistance comes out.

“This won’t work for me.” The ‘I’m too busy’ excuse.

“This won’t work here.” The ‘my area is different’ excuse.

“This won’t work now.” The ‘people don’t want to be called anymore’ excuse. 

The rules and expectations are explained up front.

Before anyone is allowed to enroll in the program they agree to do the assignments, and there are only two:

1. Show up for the weekly learning sessions

2. Participate in three group prospecting sessions a week.

That’s it. 

At the weekly learning session, each person reports their progress during the week, learns something new from the Wickman legacy, and gets support and encouragement from their fellow agents. 

During the three group prospecting sessions we sign in and share our conversation goals for the 90 minutes, make calls, track our activity and report the results. We are on Zoom with our microphones muted so everyone sees that everyone else is doing the work, or at the very least looks like they are doing the work. 

For 6 out of 168 hours a week, each agent in the program is working on their business, learning and lead generating, which leads to sit-downs and signatures.

It’s not rocket science.

It's consistent.

Top producers have figured out that there is no secret sauce or magic productivity wand.

They follow a blueprint, a road map, a learnable process for succeeding in real estate. This is that process. When you put in the work, you get the results.

The law of cause and effect is absolute.

When you resist the process and invent excuses, when you look for reasons why this process won’t or can’t work for you here and now, you will find those reasons, and they will dictate your activity and results.
