There is a ton of variety in the industry for training events.

You will have different experiences at each event. The amount of participants, speakers, and social activities all play a role. 

Here are some tips to make the most of your experience:

  1. Set Clear Goals: Before attending the event, identify your specific goals. Are you looking to improve your negotiation skills, learn about the latest marketing strategies, or expand your client base? Having clear objectives will help you focus on relevant sessions and interactions.
  2. Network Strategically: Hang around during the breaks. Ask questions. Introduce yourself to people. Networking is a key benefit of attending events. Be prepared with a concise elevator pitch that highlights your expertise and what you're looking to gain from the event.
  3. Bring Business Cards: Have a stack of professional business cards to exchange with new contacts. Yes, digital cards are nice, but there isn’t anything quite as effective as a physical card in the context of an in-person event. You will connect virtually after the event ends.

  5. Take Notes: At our Wickman events, we provide a physical notebook for you to use and prefer you not use a computer. We’re all about learning retention and focus. Jot down key takeaways, TO DOs, and any new ideas you want to explore further after the event.
  6. Dress Professionally: Dress appropriately for the event. Choose professional attire that aligns with your real estate personal brand.
  7. Visit Exhibitors: Explore the exhibitor area to learn about new products, technologies, and services that can enhance your real estate business. Engage in conversations with exhibitors to gain insights into industry tools.
  8. Follow Up: Follow up with the contacts you’ve made after the event. Connect with them on social media platforms, send personalized follow-up emails, and explore potential referral opportunities.
